loving yourself

Tunic c/o: ShopPinkBlush Shoes & Jeans: Zara Hat: Free people Necklace: Topshop Bracelets:Madewell

We live in a world filled by insecurities. We often get ready and doubt if we look pretty enough, some look at their weight, others look at their hair and some of us just wonder if we look good enough for the event we are attending.  I'm gonna be so honest in the next few sentences that I hope you catch something. I'm a dancer, went to school to become a dance teacher. I was a teacher for many years and now I'm just taking a break to raise and take care of my G. But, for many years I struggled with insecurities, growing up in that environment of dance, I was SUPER self conscience of my weight, and struggled with eating disorders for years. Growing up with no dad could really accentuate those insecurities. I used to hate seeing myself on video and I disliked the tone of my voice. And pics, well pretty much I didn't like taking pics unless they were action shots on stage. Finally, when I hit my mid 20's I began to be confident of myself. I let the love of GOD change me from the inside out. SO much has changed. I began to really believed what God says about me, I began loving myself and finding my true value in HIM. This took many years, and much renewing of the mind, not saying I'm perfect because we all struggle with insecurities at some point in our lives, and I still don't always look at the camera for pics, but I'm definitely not where I used to be. Now, I don't really care how I sound or look on a video (if you follow me on snapchat you will see). I make fun of myself and laugh when I do silly things, I began blogging a few years ago and that really helped me to come out of my shell. I DON'T PRETEND TO BE A MODEL, oh gosh no. LOL! I love models, but as you can tell I do not have the height or body for it, and I am ok with that! I am just documenting my love for fashion, life, JESUS and motherhood. I would love to look back at all these pics and say positive things and I hope to inspire moms like myself to feel and look good through fashion while enjoying their journey.

NOW, let's talk fashion. Pink Blush is such an adorable boutique with great choices for your everyday FASHION. This tunic is just one of my faves, as you know I'm pretty neutral but I LOVE florals, especially when they are in this color palette. This piece is so versatile, could be worn casually like seen here, or with a blazer or jacket for an evening stroll. Its perfect for the Miami weather, and is just so comfy!

HIIIIII!!!!!

Im so excited about this post, because I just absolutely love this fringe skirt on my buttercup. As many of you know and follow me on IG, part of my bio says "blogging my journey through life, motherhood and fashion". Well, today's topic is motherhood and its craziness. haha! There are days, weeks, and seasons MUCH harder than others, and for me, it has been one of those weeks. We are approaching the final stages of teething (molars) and for what I've read this is absolutely painful and frustrating for any kid. Well, as I've talked to some moms, they have shared how teething has never affected their child's behavior, which is SO GREAT! But that has not been the case for G. Lately, we have encountered lots of tantrums and just wanting to be attached to me from the moment she opens her eyes, to the minute she closes them. For all you stay-at-home moms, you know how this could be such a challenge. Completing 1 of 10 tasks in the day is a miracle!

I always look back at weeks like this and think 2 things to myself, what a week, and what an honor to be going through this. I know a lot of women who've had a tough time trying to conceive a child, and what has been thee most impacting thing for me while encountering these fearless and beautiful women & friends, is how joyful they are in the midst of their journey. That in itself is so admirable and makes my "crazy" weeks seem so lame! #forreal. That is why I believe that motherhood is a privilege, and I don't take it for granted. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle of life, we forget our highest calling as MOMS is to shape someone else's life. So I am just so thankful for this week!

Well let's talk fashion! Flare jeans or bell bottoms are in ladies, and I couldn't be more excited. The 60's & 70's vibe is totally my thing and I love it. I love how fashion always comes back every few decades. I've notice my past 2 posts that I have been wearing white tops. YES! I LOVE WHITE, that is no secret. I literally have to stop myself from buying white tops all.the.time. However, this is me, this is my style, not trying to be something else, but rather what I look and love to wear on a daily basis.

I almost dropped dead when I put this skirt on Giuliana. It is perfection. I found this amazing boutique (Mini Mannikin) on IG and I am obsessed! I love their effortless style for kids clothing, and I might of gone crazy shopping on their site.

Hey There!
Sorry I've been missing! I took a trip to London for a life changing conference, and had the time of my life! Finally got back into the swing of things and then it was my bday week! So, I turned 31 on Sunday, May 10th! I was just excited to celebrate it with my family and closest friends. Not gonna lie, the thought of turning 31 was scary for a few weeks. After much thought I came to the realization that growing old is a privilege. So I am all about growing old in style and enjoying the ride to the fullest. Here are a few things I've learned in my journey to turning the odd 31.
1. Motherhood is a privilege.
2. Shaping someone's life is the highest calling you could have.
3. By your 30's you will know who your TRUE friends are.
4. Life is short, if you have never lost a loved one this may not be real to you, but yea, life is short.
5. Forgive people, Jesus forgave you.
6. Have grace and mercy with others, you don't know what kind of journey they are on.
7.  Family is THEE most important thing.
8. I laugh and enjoy more things in life in my 30'S.
9. I've learned to appreciate and not take for granted the selfless friendships I have.
        10.  Marriage is a lot more fun in my 30's
