HAPPY NEW YEAR

What a year 2016 has been! It's hard to believe we'll be rolling in the new year in just a couple days. With 2017 just around the corner, it got me thinking. For some of us, 2016 was a year filled with the good, the bad or the not so good. We all can find ourselves in one of these categories. Maybe you are in the category which are happy the year is ending, so you could finally leave some hard days behind you and look forward to what 2017 has in store for you. Or maybe for you, this new year is bitter sweet, since 2016 has some of the best days & memories of your life. Regardless, of what category you are in. A new year is a good thing. YES, a good thing. One thing I've learned this year is that, we often live in our memories and we are often convinced that our GOOD days are behind us. However, I want to be the kind of people that believe for a bright future, that my best memories have yet to be created or lived, and that best is yet to come. It may sound cliche, but for us as a family it has become a way of thinking and a way of life. Let's live our lives hoping, praying and believing that our best years are truly still ahead.

Now, lets talk fashion. Here's an inexpensive look for NYE. I got this bodysuit at forever 21 for less than $20. I paired them up with some simple high waisted culottes and I made my shoes the accent point of my outfit. These blue velvet beauties are from one of my favorite boutiques here in MIAMI Spin Gallery. They are the best! G's dress is from Zara Kids and her shoes are from Old Navy

Happy New year friends thank you for your constant support to this mommy and daughter blog. Thanks for reading and stopping by

boho chic 3rd bday party

Finally! I got to write a blog post about G's 3rd birthday party! It is always my joy to be able to share with you what I did and how I did it. (this is the whole point of blogging, right?) I have been blogging about all of her parties, so you could easily find direct links here & here.

I moved to an apartment building 6 months ago, and we have this huge balcony. I mean, t's HUGE! So, I was very excited to finally throw Giuliana her 3rd bday party at our home - on the balcony. The idea was to have a boho chic theme including a kids table, area rugs, lots of pillows, string lights, teepees and a beautiful kids photo booth.

However, we live in Miami, and in this city you could have beautiful sunshine one moment, and pouring rain the next. The weather was very bad on the days leading up to her party so we decided to change location on the day of. Luckily, our building has a resident's lounge, which is spacious and convenient enough to host our festivities in. Now, I had to move the party inside and get creative. I got busy and moved some things around, hid some furniture, brought down her dresser, which I revamped, painted, and replaced all knobs. Finally, I recreated some of the original vision I had for the outside party, and made the best case scenario possible, inside.

The cake was excellent! Not only did it look BEAUTIFUL but it tasted DELICIOUS! The amount of detail that Wild Child Cupcake puts into her work is something special. I highly recommend her if you are local. Her and the sweets will certainly not disappoint!
